Lake Rotoiti

On the road between Blenheim and Hokitika on the West coast, Lake Rotoiti is a spectacular sight - even on the rain with an opportunity to get the classic long pier shot. Further on we drove about 14 kms off the main highway in search of another classic New Zealand lake scene. Unfortunately Lake Rotoroa which is about twice the size of Rotoiti had flooded its banks so the approach road, picnic areas and part of the campground were under two foot of water making access impossible without getting very wet. So no photos!
