A few snaps from our first two game drives around Kapama Private Reserve, a 16,000 hectare private game park next to Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit - a large property bordering the Kruger National Park.

The iconic Southern Yellow Hornbill (NH)
A bunch of tick birds making a nuisance of themselves on a buffalo (NH)
Young female Nyala (NH)
Three-banded Plover at a waterhole (NH)
Early morning rhino sighting (RN)
Early morning lion sighting - for us and the folk in the other cruiser. Amazing how close the lioness came to the vehicles without the slightest sign of fear or, thankfully, interest (RN)
Lioness resting for the rest of the pride. No interest in us at all. (RN)
Impala hosting three tick birds (NH)
Very young buffalo also hosting a few tick birds (NH)
Vervet monkey in our camp - sizing up the chances of zipping into the restaurant for his breakfast. He grabbed an apple before anyone could react! (RN)
Thabo, our tracker for the Landcruiser. (RN)
Two lovely zebra (RN)
Another Southern Yellow Hornbill (RN)
A beautiful Kudu caught crossing the road (RN)
Close up of the female lion spotted in the morning
