It's one of the city's highlights and, in Spring, especially so. We were so lucky to have a fine clear afternoon to spend wandering this established and generously landscaped botanic garden. Originally started in 1863 with the planting of an English oak tree to commemorate the wedding of Prince Albert and Princess Alexandria of Denmark, the gardens now sprawl over 21 hectares, providing a fantastic selection of flowers, shrubs and trees. Well worth a visit .
